The following are personal comments by Linann the CEO of Kitten Kaboodle:

Regrettably Kitten Kaboodle cannot attend as Many Craft Shows as we have in the past for the 2012 Christmas Season.  This is not due to illness or lack of interest in making Cat Toys-it is because the entire Whidbey Island Community has decided to hold their Craft Sales all on THE SAME DAY ! ! !

I would like to know what nut case thought this up ! ! !  Just imagine attending 20 craft sales or more all in one day.  How boring is that?  I understand this was done because it was thought to cut down on gasoline usage but really.  Think about it.

First of all there is "craft sale burn out-the customer can't take any more than a few craft sales at one time
Especially since--face it it is mostly the same products crammed into a small area with little variety.

Secondly-How is the home crafter supposed to choose?  If you are only one person you can only attend one craft sale.  If you are lucky enough to have two or more people what about your stock?  Do you have enough to divide between two or more shows?  What if you make too much and if it is perishable?

I think this is a very unwise decision on the part of whomever thought it up.  They obviously are not serious crafters or if they are- they have more money and product than sense.

I have returned to the Farmer's Market in Coupeville after a 3 year hiatus.  They have condescended to lower their prices to $15 a 4 hour day.  Still pretty steep but at least I don't have to pay for the days I do not attend.

I have been a member of the Farmer's Market for the past 20 years.  Ever since they were at the Courthouse in Coupeville and I only had a cardtable and a few Stuffed Toys.   I

In my opinion, it is getting so the small crafter cannot afford to attend the  Markets any more.   It is becoming a sales haven for only the power sellers and the people that gauge their profits in hundreds of dollars and not single doller bills.
